a t t e n t i o n

I read this on Deepak Chopra's website, and thought it to be Perfect in understanding and dealing with the many different and intense energies of June.

Deepak is always dishing out delightful dharma!

Question:

Why is it, as soon as I see my issues and try to make changes it feels like I'm being tested more and more. Is this really happening or is it that I'm more aware?
Response:

It’s because that silent awareness is growing stronger in you, so you are looking at your issues with greater objectivity and dispassion. That often leads one to see the forces of one’s old conditioning as a problem that needs to be dealt with—a test. But it’s not really a test in that sense. Becoming more aware is the big accomplishment. You transform the old habits, behavior and thought patterns by letting your non-judgmental attention do the work at a subtle level. Your job is to be aware, be the silent witness, and not reenter the struggle and try to conquer the problem through will power. That only adds energy to the conflict and prolongs the issue. Let your gentle, compassionate and non-attached awareness bring about the transformation without struggle or stress.

Love,
Deepak

I love to be inspired, and I choose to find inspiration in many different things: song lyrics that speak to me, being around like-minded people, the interconnectedness of nature, and so on. n o u r i s h i n g

I'm a mood reader. Whatever mood I'm in dictates which book I pick up and read or continue with. It's funny to see the diverse set of books I'm reading, and all at once. For those who give a hoot, here is the most current list and they all come highly recommended:

  • The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  • Essence Of the Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran
  • Vagabonding by Rolf Potts
And if books on tape, rather i tunes, count, here is my entry:
  • Living The Liberated Life and Dealing with the Pain Body by Eckhart Tolle (Yet this comes with a warning from me: This book will rock your world & shake things up, but that's a good thing...)

e m p o w e r e d

My prenatal yoga class starts tonight at Jai Dee. I am excited to work with these woman while they are in one of the most empowering times within their lives. From my experience, pregnant women seem to have a heightened sense of their bodies, and are in a space of greater awareness and higher consciousness.  It feels good to be in their presence and I always feel amazing after teaching a pregnant private session or yoga class.

Please pass class info along to anyone who will benefit.                                                 Namaste!

For me, what's most inspiring from this video:
-The opening line: This Is How I Show My Love
-This kid's use of yoga based asanas mixed in with who he is
-The yummy symbolism of him "dancing" around everything that seems "broken"
